Music I listen to

Love Giallo

I saw Suspiria years ago, I'd picked it for a viewing party and the film fair freaked me out at the time. I had it donw as the scariest horror film I'd seen, the build up of the music and colour was almost too much to bear. I later revisited and watch it 4 times in a weekend, I have been a firm fan since and managed to wade into the waters of Argento (even though I'd never been a gore fan - but his aesthetic reminded me of the cinema I loved, Hitchcock and Powell and Pressburger - I just had to sacrifice my "finer feelings" in pursuit of of these super colour nightmares. From there I discovered Tim Lucas and what he'd been doing to champion the re-issue of Gialli on DVD, and Mario was my best stop and it's just gone on from there over the years. The films are becoming ever more popular - and I'm hoping Shameless do start adding Italian language versions to their wonderful collection.

Yes, I also hope SHAMELESS or other companies release more gialli in Italian language editions with English subs. Bob Monell
